THE COMPANY

SERTINSA started exporting coffee in the early 1980’s and over the years a strong dedication to quality has matured.

Since 1989 we are a member of Neumann Kaffee Gruppe, one of the leading coffee specialists in the world and through this affiliation we do not only put our local trade into the international context, but can also count on many important additional assets such as sound financial backing.

The head office is conveniently situated in Guatemala City nearby the offices of the National Coffee Association (ANACAFE), the Coffee Exporters Association (ADEC), leading banks, steamship companies and international hotels. La Aurora International Airport is also only a short drive away.

Along with the Management and the departments of Trading, Traffic and F&A the head office also houses our centralized Quality Control Department, which is responsable for the evaluation and monitoring of the quality of the coffee during the entire process - from purchasing to exporting!

THE INFRASTRUCTURE

Our modern export mill Almolonga can be found in the vicinity of the colonial city of Antigua Guatemala. Prevailing climatic conditions at an altitude of around 1,500 meters above sea level assure optimal storage of parchment coffee and hence give us the opportunity to offer throughout the year freshly milled coffee prior to shipment.

Experienced personnel, strict quality controls during the entire process and a state-of-the-art electronic sorting machinery are our strengths to offer tailor-made preparations and to guarantee the fulfillment of customer's requirements.

The mill is surrounded by one of the most spectacular sceneries of the country being located on the slopes of majestic volcano Agua (3,766m) and across the volcanoes Acatenango (3,976m) and fascinating and still active Fuego (3,763m).

Taking advantage of its location Almolonga functions as well as a buying station in order to cover the central coffee producing regions of Guatemala.

In addition to the mill an excellent set up throughout the country is established in order to comprise other major coffee producing regions as there are Huehuetenango and Coatepeque in the west, Santa Rosa and Zacapa in the east and Alta Verapaz in the north.

This network enables us to supply all the coffee qualities produced in Guatemala - naturally in accordance with our client’s requirements and specifications.

THE PEOPLE

Notwithstanding these substantial benefits, we like to think that our most important asset is represented by our personnel.

We have built up a profound knowledge in all areas of coffee related services, provided by motivated employees and based on sound ethical business concepts.

We do business the old fashioned way: We do not have “sources” and “outlets”, but clients and partners with most of whom we have been doing business ever since our company was founded.
