Located in the heart of the Americas, Guatemala never stops overwhelming people all around the world with its tremendous environmental and cultural richness.

From the grandeur of the ancient Mayan ruins in the northern jungles of Tikal to the beautiful beaches and mangroves in the southern Monterico, from the volcanic lagoons in eastern Chiquimula to the picturesque highlands in western Huehuetenango:

GUATEMALA IS TRULY A COUNTRY OF COLORFUL DIVERSITY AND BEAUTY!

The country is divided by green mountains, deep valleys and ancient volcanoes - some of them still active today - into a number of ecologically distinct growing regions, each of which produces its own unique type of coffee.

A large part of Guatemala is cultivated with cafétales, most of which are owned by small to medium sized producers.

The great majority of them is still processing their coffee in the traditional way fermenting in tanks and sun-drying on patios, which is the basis for Guatemala's recognized high quality.

The farms mostly contain shade trees, which not only protect the coffee plants, but also generate oxygen and present nesting spots for migrating birds.

Thus in essence, coffee cultivation in Guatemala not only fulfills an important economical function, but also effectively protects the environment.
